Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
What does the GSR12V-300B22 kit include?
Bosch lists the GSR12V-300 drill/driver, two 12V Max 2.0Ah batteries, a 12V Max charger, four-tip holder and four bits, a belt clip and carrying bag. The exact page does not name battery or charger models.
Explore this need in the finder →Can the GSR12V-300B22 clamp a 1/2-in bit?
No. Bosch lists a three-jaw keyless 3/8-in chuck, below the 1/2-in shank-capacity requirement. That chuck size is not itself a hole-size rating.
Explore this need in the finder →Does the GSR12V-300B22 kit tool have hammer mode?
No. The included GSR12V-300 is a drill/driver; Bosch’s separate GSB12V-300 hammer-drill mode is not part of this exact package.
Explore this need in the finder →This is a desk-based assessment of Bosch’s exact U.S. GSR12V-300B22 page, the GSR12V-300 operating instructions and current category evidence. No ownership, hands-on evaluation or performance testing is claimed.
B22 is the included-battery kit
Bosch’s exact GSR12V-300B22 page lists one GSR12V-300 EC Brushless 3/8-in drill/driver, two 12V Max lithium-ion 2.0Ah batteries, one 12V Max charger, a four-tip bit holder, four Impact Tough bits, a belt clip and a carrying bag. The technical table calls the case type a canvas bag. Bosch does not identify the supplied battery or charger model numbers in that written list, so check the actual kit and compatibility documents if those details affect an existing system. This B22 SKU is a different retail configuration from the GSR12V-300N bare tool: do not move B22’s batteries, charger or bag into the N package assessment.
The page URL/SKU field shows Bosch identifier 06019H801B; the spare-parts section separately shows 3601JH8010. The B22 is present in Bosch’s eight-item current U.S. 12V Max drill/driver subcategory. That is evidence of current manufacturer catalogue placement, not a claim about stock at a retailer. Bosch’s broader drill/driver route still has an unresolved declared-versus-captured card count.
The kit contains the plain GSR drill/driver
The included tool is a conventional two-speed drill/driver with a three-jaw keyless 3/8-in chuck. Bosch describes an EC brushless motor, two-speed transmission, variable-speed trigger, reverse, LED work light and 20+1 clutch settings. The “+1” is the drill position, separate from the numbered clutch settings used for screwdriving. A 3/8-in chuck can retain compatible round-shank bits within that opening; it does not satisfy the finder’s minimum 1/2-in chuck condition, and it says nothing by itself about hole size in a given material.
Do not confuse the GSR12V-300B22 with Bosch’s GSB12V-300 hammer-drill sibling. Bosch’s later multi-model manual has separate specifications and illustrations: the mode selector ring appears in the GSB hammer-drill section, while the GSR drill/driver section does not document hammer mode. This exact package includes the GSR, not a GSB. It is for ordinary drilling and screwdriving as documented, not for a buyer who requires integrated hammer action for masonry.
Read the performance numbers as claims
Bosch publishes up to 300 in-lb torque and no-load speed ranges of 0–460 and 0–1,750 rpm. The separate low and high ranges, adjustable clutch and reverse describe available controls; they do not establish loaded speed, runtime or how the tool will drive a particular fastener. The included 2.0Ah batteries are an exact package fact, but neither that capacity nor the manufacturer torque figure supports an independent runtime or productivity prediction. There was no test behind this assessment.
The manuals also conflict on two maximum-capacity entries. The 2018 GSR12V-300 manual linked from the product page lists a 9/32-in screw size and 3/4-in wood; Bosch’s later 2020 manual section for GSR12V-300 lists 5/16-in and 1-1/4-in wood. Both list 3/8-in mild-metal drilling. Because these are different Bosch manual revisions, the review leaves the disputed wood and screw-size limits unresolved instead of choosing whichever number looks more attractive. Check the instructions for the exact tool and intended operation.
The short head still needs a real-space check
Bosch states a 6.0-in head length and 1.6-lb tool-only weight for the GSR12V-300. The head value meets the six-inch-or-less question exactly, but the actual working envelope also includes the selected bit, the 2.0Ah battery under the grip, the hand and the direction from which the tool must approach the work. The 1.6-lb number is not the working weight of this battery-included package. The page separately lists overall length as 6 in; neither figure substitutes for measuring clearance in a cabinet or between framing.
What the photo can and cannot verify
The manufacturer’s exact B22 kit image visibly shows the drill, charger, carrying bag and one battery. The written Includes list states two 2.0Ah batteries, so the image is not being used to reduce the package count to one. The product image also is not a guarantee of current seller condition or that an offer’s carton contains the documented pieces. Check the exact B22 suffix, battery count, charger, bits and bag on the listing and at receipt.
Assessment
The GSR12V-300B22 is a plausible assessment candidate for a buyer who wants a brushless Bosch 12V Max drill/driver kit with two stated 2.0Ah batteries, a charger, common bit accessories and a bag. Its conventional 3/8-in chuck, stated 6-in head, two speeds and clutch make the core tool’s documented fit clear. The limitations matter just as much: the included battery and charger model numbers are unnamed, the 3/8-in chuck falls short of a 1/2-in need, the GSR has no documented hammer mode, and two manual revisions disagree on wood and screw capacity. Compare the separately reviewed GSR12V-300N if a bare tool is the intended purchase; it does not include B22’s pack, charger or bag. These are source-based findings, not hands-on or comparative test results.
